Bowser's Inside Story is a Reconstruction of the JRPG. Basically, the plot is funny instead of angsty, the world can be explored, the combat is both turn based and action packed, and the entire thing has the classic Nintendo charm. Plus, you get to play as Bowser. In a starring role.

Bowser as a playable character in an action-RPG is beautiful.

Oh, and don't bother with SM64DS. The controls sucked.

Thanks. You guys have really built up Bowser's Inside Story so I guess that's a must have and I will order it tonight.

Out of curioisity, how are the the graphics on DS games? I'm not a graphics whore by any stretch. My favourite current gen games are Mario Kart wii, and Halo 3 as I really do put playability and fun factor at the top of my priority list. I'm just curious as to what I should expect visually when I fire up my first DS game. What gen are the graphics comparable to?

In terms of power the DS is probably a bit better than the N64, but due to it being a handheld the games usually use a different perspective to N64 games (lots of sidescroller/top down) so it's not really directly comparable.
