In 2008 google had a third of mft's revenue, and now it is sitting at half that. You don't think that in 2015 when google hits 2/3's of msft's revenue that google would be able to marshal more resources against msft? Of course not, you think that pure strategy is the only thing that matters. Well, how well has msft executed its strategy so far?

Just curious...Why did you bring Microsoft in to this thread at all? Couldn't you just say..
"Google's revenue for the quarter was 10.65 billion, versus 8.58 billion a year ago. This represents a 25% increase.
Google's net income was 2.89 billion, versus 1.8billion a year ago. This is about a 60% increase year over year.
Great Job Google!"
Like we get it, you dislike Microsoft and want Google to surpass them in revenue for some reason. But you really seem to struggle to just report the news as it is, without any personal spins on it.

The earnings statements are an incomplete picture in my opinion, bc they say nothing about the future. To figure out they way the competitive landscape of mobile or anything else works or how it will look in the future, you need to look at other things as well. Assessing competition is one of those things, disolitude. So, I will talk about other companies.

Please tell me you at least work for Google or own their stock or something... Im hoping that you at least have something to gain from the great pro-Google analysis you do on this site.
As far as Google competitive landscape of mobile and Google earnings, I'm wondering if you noticed that 10.2 our of 10.6 billion of Googles revenue came from advertising. Android and Chrome as an OS entity made them hardly any revenue which is pretty laughable for a company that has 50%+ share of the market.
For Google it all comes down to search. Search gives them people browsing data which they can use to behaviouraly target their display and search ads which they can sell to other publishers and that makes them a monopoly in the advertising industry. However they are essentially one better search engine away from losing their magical growth and becoming the next Yahoo.
