I don't think having Nintendo's system sellers together would incur canibalisation... that may happen with the heavy front end system sellers like Halo/Zelda/God of War, but Mario Kart and Super Mario wouldn't do that. Perhaps they would have a slightly slower start than if released in seperate times, but the way they sell over a long period means they wouldn't directly affect each others sales. What would instead happen is if Nintendo puts it's system sellers together... then runs out of them as they did with the Wii. With 3rd party attitudes to Nintendo this leads to a game drought and a slow loss of interest in the system overall. |
Either way, it is a bad idea to bunch too many things together (Wii). It is even a worse idea not to have any system sellers at launch (3DS).
I am Mario.I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble. Wii Friend Code: 1624 6601 1126 1492 NNID: Mike_INTV |
