Examples:

Oedipus (ancient Greeks)

Romulus and Remus (Roman)

MacBeth (English)

An example remarkably similar to your statement is Sleeping Beauty - it was fortold that she would be put into an enchanted sleep by a spindle, the King forbade all spindles, when she eventually came upon a spinning wheel she did not know how to use it and so pruck her finger and fell into sleep.

The King just wasn't paranoid enough. He should have cut her fingers... Haven't heard of that Greek and English guy tho

But still, my example is right. You can avoid a certain death

You seem to misunderstand the meaning of certain

Well, you can't avoid certain death as in becoming immortal, you will eventually die unavoidable natural death or of old age. But you can avoid a circumstantial ''certain'' death, as in avoid getting hit by a car or a brick falling down your head
