I will say, however, that i agree that there is a fair bit of bias going into how scholars assess Russia, largely due to the fact that the vast bulk of widely-circulated scholarly thought comes straight from the mouths of NATO citizens, but at the same time one must acknowledge the problems faced on the ground in Russia, namely the stymyieing of free thought in a rather underhanded way
