1979. The Star Wars SciFi aftermath:

Alien is a timeless masterpiece, Star Trek: The Motion Picture and The Black Hole are decent, even Buck Rogers in the 25th Century is more fun to watch than Moonraker.

John Barry's score is okay, but even in this 1979 SciFi sub-battle Moonraker easily loses against Barry's excellent score for The Black Hole (unforgettable main theme and great overall score).

There are only few things worth remembering about Moonraker:
- The gorgeous Rio panorama during the lame cable car fight http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xHPDIjWgMzw

- John Barry's/Hal David's title song (it's not among the masterful works of the two but I like it) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gt3oQN0cAv0&feature=fvwrel

- The musical references to other movies
