| Gilgamesh said: But my point is as a leading console has it performed the way a leading gaming console generally perform? No Nintendo did there own thing. They stuck with there first party and everything went great for the first few years, but eventually the many big exciting games released on the X360 and PS3 and making it more enticing. So ya Nintendo dropped the ball, they relied to much on first party, which is fine, it pleases all the Nintendo fans, but as for all the other gamer's it kept them away. |
That is not the Wii's fault. At the start of the generation most (if not all) of the third party developers where preparing for the launch of the PS3 as it was expected to be the leader again and they were already developing games for the 360 as it came out 1 year before, nobody was expecting the Wii leadership. After they invested a ton of money getting the tools for HD development and saw that the Wii was winning it was just too late to go back, so they stick to their original plan and refuse to take many of its franchises to the Wii.
