Has the Wii become one of the biggest disappointments in gaming?

Wii was far from the biggest dissapointment lol I can think of several off the top of my head that were far more dissapointing.

I don't think Nintendo is in the slightest dissapointed. They lead the Gen and even though they aren't outselling their competitors right now it really doesn't matter to them.

Let me ask, do you think Nintendo cares that they aren't leading right now? No they don't they made more in the 3 years they brutally dominated then Microsoft has in its entire console existence and Sony did with the PS3. Nintendo made a killing. All the first party software and cheap hardware brought in a mint for Nintendo.

Now as consumers the Win was very close in living up to GameCube though instead of Nintendo further expanding.its mature audience it went after pick up and play casuals.

Now some say third parties lack of support made Wii a dissapointment. Sorry but Nintendo fans have never enjoyed massive third party support. On NES and SNES Nintendo kept third parties in line with N64 and GCN third party support was far lower. Nintendo fans or anyone who knows Nintendo knows you buy a Nintendo console for the Nintendo games and the third party content is simply a bonus.

See I buy Nintendo consoles because Nintendo makes the absolute best games. I buy Microsoft because third parties really use the hardware well and Microsoft isn't half bad a publisher. Sony is my last choice because it has third party support but first party content simply doesn't appeal to me.

If I was Nintendo I would be proud of the fact people buy my consoles for my games and not the third party ones.
