I wouldn't say it's a dissapointment.. It brought in a plethora of new gamers with its inviting controller and a back-to-basics approach to gaming. It also innovated with new types of games like Wii Fit. And it's library is pretty solid, assuming you like Nintendo games. To me personally, it made gaming feel new again, a feeling I had not gotten since the first time I picked up an NES controller. So there is definitly something to be said for that.
Though I will say its lifespan was cut off unneccesarily short by third parties freezing it out with lack of support, in addition to Nintendo resting on their laurels and slacking on game development for their console in its later years, particularly when it comes to using motion control. So I wouldn't say dissapointment, but definitly some unrealized potential.
