Mario Tennis Open to be the greatest multiplayer experience on the 3DS?

I hope so, but Kid Icarus multiplayer looks amazing too, so maybe Mario Tennis has a worthy competitor.

The best multiplayer will be Animal Crossing, if it has online play. It's a great game, but so cumbersome to leave your town. Smash Bros is another one that can steal the title, too.
