Thanks. The snapping thing looks cool (though again on a laptop with no touch screen and usually no mouse I will probably have to settle for 50:50 and then drag with the touchpad like I do now, but at least both programs will adjust at once)

Some of those other features would annoy me though, and i hope it's possible to customise... for example the swiping on the right side just to get a start menu would be irritating with a mouse, same for the tabs in IE10 being hidden at the top. Ultimately nothing in the MUI I saw in the video is of any use to me without a touchscreen, which is why I hope it doesn't default to it all the time.

As I am using mouse and keyboard now with it I can let you know a bit of info.

I am uusing a standard 2 button mouse with scroll ball.

Pressing right trigger on mouse brings up controls of apps like IE for example. You dont have to take the mouse to the top or bottom of the screen.

You do however have to take the cursor to te right of th screen for Start and other options. You will be surprised how this doesnt affect you, as it effectiely is nstead of you going to the bottom left for the old start menu.

On the left moving the mouse their actually shows you the programs open. allowing you to snap whichever you want into view or close them or left click cycle.

The scroll wheel scrols through the Metro UI left and right. Helping alot in term of mouse usage.

Touch is obviously the pinnacle here, but mouse and keyboard is no sloach with Win 8. It works realy well.

Can you use a laptop's  touchpad to simulate a touchscreen? Then navigate the menus, like swipe left, right, up, down, pinch, stretch, blah?
