If you want wii U to follow in the wii's footsteps as a third-party no go area then graphics or power shouldn't matter.
If like me you want triple A third party games and the choice of pretty much all the multi-plats then yes power should matter.
At the end of the day developers want their games to look good and show off their skills. Good hardware is essential to accomplish this.
From what I gather the specs are better on the wii U than PS3 and x360 so how can it be less powerful?
If the weakest console of the next gen is not as powerful as the current top console this gen it kinda defeats the whole purpose of generations.
Generations should be more than just about a new type of controller.
