You'll rarely find games perform like Capcom's games are on 3DS, ever, on a Nintendo console, since the SNES days. So yes, the 3DS is an achievement in that aspect.

My reason for Wii's uncapacity of reigning supreme this gen: no HD capabilities. It didn't fit with the business model pre-established by most 3rd parties, who were PS3-ready. When PS3 failed, Nintendo was not able to capitalize due to restricting the high-end graphics option to 3rd parties. Microsoft, however, capitilized.

Nintendo was able to produce an HD-ready console if the Cube was any indicator of HW performance/pricepoint ratio. Their lack of foresight on the importance of this strategical position caused them a half-victory. Blue ocean only gave them so much, they should have used it to capture the red ocean while they were there.

Excellent thread by the way.
