Give a kinect game a chance? Not happening.

The gaming elite have let it be known that kinect isnt a bona fide gaming device.

Gaming is serious manly business!!

It's not that their giving us any real reason to think otherwise. And it seems silly for a developer to tell the consumers to don't buy when the main reason their making the game is to sell to the consumer.

If they think the criticism is unfainr, then they should prove us with their game why we're wrong.

Fable the Journey seems promising enough. I hope they manage to make at least something decent.

Reading Kowe's comment and then yours made me literally lol :D

He is making fun of a group of freaking nerds, who basically failed in live and you go: Yep, that's me!

Internet, please never change!

Nerds? I thought he was making fun (being sarcastic) of a group of gamers. The ones who think bad of Kinect. Which is a lot of people, more than just a small group. And i have no shame in admiting i'm part of.

But you're missquoting me.

I'm talking about gamers that mostly frequest sites such as this or n4g or neogaf... the self proclaimed gaming elite, real tough guys for whom games are a aserious business.  Guys  who, yes,... are in the main nerds.  The kind of people that get all flustered when star wars is mentioned.

geeks, nerds, bed wetters... call them what you will, I didnt label them.

Games busines is serious business... games themselves arent serious business.

They are supposed to be about fun and entertainement.  If someone is entertained by just dance, then good for them, if they are entertained by heavy rain the good for them, if they are entertained by kinect then good for them.  Its nobody else business what a consumer likes or dislikes.

True, so why should you or The Journey developers care if someone dislikes Kinect?

I agree with lurkerwithnosouls's main point though; 360 developers have done nothing to show that Kinect isn't simply a gimmick tool to lure in non-gamers and Kinect's value in mainstream gaming has yet to be shown at all. The same can be said for Move, as they stand now they haven't really added anything to the gaming environment that we needed, it comes off as cheap, half-hearted and silly. The promise of proper implementation in more meaty games with some substance has gone unfullfilled all this time and is starting to remind me of the secret, upcoming savior 3rd party title that would help the PS3 win the generation or the secret, upcoming 3rd party titles and price cuts that would stop the Wii's fall; its not happening.

This generation is full of these events, promises are made, hopes soar and are then torn from the skies and flung to the ground.

Kinect may have sold very well, no one can deny that, but all those sales have been of little to no value for the average 360 owner (myself uncluded, I have no mind to buy this and I don't even know a single person who neither owns nor want a Kinect unit).
