5. Minecraft. I've never felt so free in my whole gaming life. Minecraft is a true sandbox experience unlike anything else before it. I'd take it over GTA and Skyrim any day.
4. Okami. It's not just a game. It's an embodiment of a culture.
3. The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. The reasons why some hate Skyward Sword are generally why I love it. Its Metroid-like linear progression/nonlinear backtracking allowed for more focused, polished gameplay (all the puzzles are full of awesome) and narrative, while offering up plenty of neat sidequests and secrets. No other Zelda game can match Skyward Sword's surprisingly deep combat system, which is by far the highlight of the game. I do wish there was a way to turn Fi off, though.
2. Super Mario RPG: The Legend of the Seven Stars. My very first RPG. A perfect introduction to one of my favorite genres.
1. Metroid Prime. It's the only game I've beaten more than five times, and the first game I've ever 100%'d. I'd always find new secrets and better routes with each subsequent playthrough. However, Prime's real strengths are its unrivaled atmosphere, epic boss battles, and chilling music. Heck, I feel like playing through it again right now.
