I know that if you respond to this post you will go all like "who says I was talking about you" kind of attitude, I don´t care that you made that statement when there was no reason do so, I do care that you labeled me (not just me) a Sony fan. I am nobody's fan, I like gaming that´s it. As for the rumor, I don´t believe it, for the simple fact that just Kinect 2.0 on every box would be $200 alone, how in the world would they put 2 GPUs in there, a powerful 4-6 core CPU, with bluray player all in one machine. That machine would cost $600 minimum at launch, and with Kinect popularity phenom I see no reason for MS do so. One thing is for sure, if they go the power hungry route, I am telling you, Sony is toast. They would need a gimmick to sell the PS Orbit (or completely change their software mindset), because the Uncharteds, God of wars and GTs would stop being graphic leaders, meaning they would have to add something to these games to sell as they do now. In my mind if Sony is left in the middle power wise, they are screwed, for me I want diversity, I don´t want two similar consoles with different gimmicks to choose from. |
Kinect as a whole cost $56 in 2010 in 2010, with th increased economy of scale and moving everything to a dedicated CPU core that will be even lower.
Also the always online thing won't make it to launch IMO, but you can bet your arse that if you want achivements or to play oinline you will have to register your game or pay an extra fee if you buy used, like an online pass today.
