This April Fools joke was so well done that I can't help but comment on some of the finer points. Kudos to a well crafted piece.
The "Analyst" makes a good point about Sony's popular IPs, they are best played at home. That being said, PSP had some great RPGs that helped move systems in Japan. I think that has to be Sony's strategy moving forward to gain some traction on the Home Islands. Obviously, they won't be producing any of these themselves, but the time is nigh to start cutting checks to the various RPG houses to start making some games. I could see Disgaea doing well on this thing, it would be a fun experience with such a big screen.
I don't see the Vita dying, but a price cut is inevitable at this point. Unless SUPER DRAQON QUEST vs. FFVII!!!!!OMGCUMINPANTS!!!!!! is released, I just don't see this system miraculously jump starting sales in Japan or the Western Hemisphere. It has fared better in Europe, so maybe that is the territory where the most attention is to be given.
All together, this was a VERY WELL DONE April fools joke. I saw the star and wanted to know why it was there so I saw the 'fictive analysis firm early', even so I found myself seriously agreeing and disagreeing with a joke article all the way through. Well done.
