Well... I´m a little bit like the author of this thread.

I´ve been playing videogames since early 80´s, with those old Magnavox/Philips pong consoles and arcades like Pacman, Galaga(xian) and Centipede. I´ve never had a handheld simply because I thought that playing in a small device wasn´t enough for me to enjoy games, since I was always used to play with big screens.

But I never thought that handhelds were a bad thing. Just because since the old Game&WAtch I always met lots of people who really enjoyed them. I simply couldn´t take it to me. I would always prefer home consoles.

Today, as a storeroom manager and amateur musician, I don´t find enough time to enjoy videogames, I gave my Wii and PS2 to my brother and decided to give a go to the 3DS last November, so I could enjoy them during my work breaks, subway commuting or travels.

The result is that in just 4 months I´ve bought 19 games, and attended seven 3DS fans meeting in my city (Sao Paulo, Brazil). I´ve never thought how handheld games could be so much fun and how those games could really achieve such high level of quality.

ok, it´s true that I´ve spent a lot of money but I don´t regret it. 3DS is a fine piece of hardware and I believe Nintendo got it right with this console. Of course there are some minor issues, like battery life and the lack of a second analog stick, probably we will see in two years a redesigned 3DS, but still it´s a great console.

I strongly recommend you to try Kid Icarus and MGS Snake Eater. Those are excellent games. And they can be perfectly enjoyed without the circle pad pro. By the way, I haven´t bought it and I think it´s kind of a unecessary purchase right now, because the system seems cluncky with it. I prefer to enjoy the system as it is right now and wait for a redesigned model.
