Vita will have the same problem PSP has had, because Sony hasn't really seen the issue. The Vita will need a Japanese Miracle similar to the miracle in the form of Monster Hunter that came to the PSP if it wants to ever touch PSP's lifetime sales.

I'd have to agree, however, can Sony rely on Monster Hunter again, like they did with the PSP? If the 3DS has 2 Monster Hunter games out (including a NEW entry to the franchise), then the selling power of the series for the Vita, while still large, would be nothing like that of the PSP.

I highly doubt anyone is going to bother with Monster Hunter on 3ds once it makes it way to Vita

And you have any evidence of this because...?

IF it ever makes its way to the Vita, the MHP3rd for the 3DS will have been out for well over a year, and MH4 for the 3DS would also have been released. Now, whatever Sony get for the Vita (if anything), it won't undo those sales, and thus the community and support behind the games. So sales won't just 'dry up', if they take much of a hit at all. The only console to take a hit from it would be the Vita itself.

A fully featured Vita Monster Hunter would render any effort on the 3ds completely obsolete, my assumption is Japanese gamers will know this and buy accoringly, sales won't dry up at all, but be about as relevant as COD is on wii
