Capcom is evidently realizing this, as they haven't complained about Zak and Wikki, not to mention RE4 Wii edition took months to reach a million. Yet last I checked, Capcom's last reports were of some of their best profits ever, which they even thanked the Wii for.
They are definitely looking at this long term.
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
