It's part of a trend in media coverage in the last week and a half or so. Pat Buchanon got accused of being a racist by saying to Jessie Jackson "Your boy".
Which is a pretty common non-racist comment for somebody the person your talking to likes the person your talking about.
It's used ALL THE TIME on PTI, where a white and black guy debate, and Wilbon never got mad about Korneiser talking about "Your boy, Donovan McNabb".
There's been a trend for people to try and paint anger over obama to be about racism, and not the fact that none of his policies did what he promised, and he broke most of his campaign promises... often not only by not just not acting but by putting forth effort to go the exact opposite way he agreed to go.
