I'm fine with this. A game can have both a vanilla ending and a DLC ending, and both can be satisfying.

Take Mass Effect 2. You have the regular ending, which is perfectly fine, but you also have the DLC Arrival ending, which is the true ending to the game, as it's the end of the game's story. It's set after the main quest, so that makes it the actual ending. It's also the ending that the sequel picks up on.

Sort of the same as expansion packs, really. There's an ending in the original game, but the story continues in the expansion, and that's the real ending for the game.

So, all in all, perfectly fine with this.
