If this were their stated reason, well... they would be stealing the plot of Die Hard 4, but I would be OK with it.
Their reason is just to prove that they are still out there and strong after the Lulzsec take down. NSA is watching though, don't think if they do this there wont be MAJOR consequences for many of the members.
