It's funny how it's so easy to decide whether to buy some games these days: if it has DRM, don't buy. It's that simple for me. And if it doesn't have DRM... Well, things get a little bit more interesting but obviously NOT IN THIS CASE.

That's a silly reason not to buy. If you're computer is already online, who cares?

I'll probably still buy it. I know I've had zero issues with Civ5 that has the same type of rule. I just think too many people cry about too many things.

This anti-piracy solution is far better than a rootkit. Granted, I think the key code was just fine and more than enough to limit piracy to only the worst offenders.

Everyone have different standards. It's my choice to not allow them to push stupid restriction on me. It's a single player game, not MMO.

Civ5 does not requires always online. Unless I've been tricked?

It requires steam connection which means online.

Steam has an offline mode you know.
