What's this graph all about by the way? Wii had negatives sales in 2011? WTF?

If you look closey so does the 360.

Thats because the chart is for Installed base, rather than units sold. If Wii had higher numbers between 2008~2009, and some lower numbers for X360 and PS4, it would be more beleivable.

I understand its install base, but still doesn't make sense that 360 and Wii have a loss of total units sold in 2011. 

What did Nintendo and Microsoft buy systems back from thier audience? ;p

Installed base means consoles in use.

Essentially the arguement is more people in 2011 would be putting their consoles in their closets then buying them.

I have never seen anyone even attempt to predict what consoles are being used and others collecting dust.

How does one predict that?
