it's current sales rate is only vindictive of a slow start, a slow start that will pick up once the games you think they shouldn't/aren't making because of the slow start eventually end up on the system, the more games they make higher the system will pick up.

and 3rd parties this generation have proven they'd rather go high end instead of low end, my point is given that the current situation for Vita is a launch situation multiplatform is easier option for better profit margin without the 3ds being the clearly inferior machine that it is, I mean you hear people saying 3ds games can match Vita games now (which I think is be very generous) but 2-3 years from now once the power of the Vita is more easily harnessed it would be comparing ps3 games to wii games, but it's not 2 years from now, it's launch, remember ps3 games didn't live up to the hype at launch not only because they were not as good as the 05 trailers, they were also worse than games seen on 360.

That's the advantage the 3ds has now for 3rd parties, effort in launch games don't have to be the best and aren't expected to be, much like the situation with 360 and ps3, 3rd party games were either exclusive to 360 or miltiplat, but after 2-3 years 08-09 complete turn around, because by that time the Vita would have amassed a userbase large enough to justify high profile 3rd party games that utilize the systems power, now of course 1st parties will beat them to the punch but that's the thing with Sony platforms, 1st parties and 3rd parties complement each other not compete, the better Sony first party titles do the better more motivated 3rd parties become.

Like I said ubisoft, activision, bethesda, ccp, and various other first and third parties will announce games I'm sure will blow people away I can't pin point exactly who, or what but I can assure that they're coming. People are mistaking Sony not doing much as a sign of nothing to come, "why aren't they in panic mode like Nintendo last year, game heaven underwhelmed Vita future looks murky"...umm no game heaven was a web cast nothing more nothing less, and they aren't worried because they don't have to be, as I've said before in another thread, when the 3ds was doing poorly so was everything else Nintendo, they weren't lighting up the chartz at all and seeing how the wii was falling completely off a cliff the 3ds was really all they had so drastic measures had to be taken, not so with Sony, Playstation as a whole is doing fine, better than everyone else in fact, so Sony has the luxury to wait until E3,Gamescom, TGS to show the future of the Vita, allow the developers time to straighten up and better their games so when they do announce stuff it's more than this

Vita might not be making tons of money but it isn't losing any either so they're just letting it coast, whatever it does means nothing, now after the big gaming conventions and when it gets it's first true holiday I believe things will be very different

Punctuation is not a mere suggestion. Think of the poor reader...

A few thoughts:

1) Cross-platform portability isn't as simple as you're making it out to be. Unless the 3DS and Vita share similar architecture, porting a game from one to the other can take a lot more resources than you're assuming. Whether that proves to be a high enough barrier remains to be seen, but this factor can not be discarded.

2) When you say "much like the situation with 360 and ps3, 3rd party games were either exclusive to 360 or miltiplat, but after 2-3 years 08-09 complete turn around," do you mean that third-party games generally stopped being multiplat?

3) "Like I said ubisoft, activision, bethesda, ccp, and various other first and third parties will announce games I'm sure will blow people away." This is the type of statement I was asking about earlier, albeit with the hope of something more concrete.

4) "Vita might not be making tons of money but it isn't losing any either." Are you sure?
