What programming language could a fresh beginner start using? C++? Any good books, tutorials. I'm thinking about grabbing a few books from the library and locking myself in a room. |
I'm no pro but I'd say Java is pretty easy as a first language. If I had to guess, I'd say C++ is better but learning another language is pretty easy once you already know one and Java just happens to be easier. Not to say C++ is that hard either... But it is pretty old and it shows. I took two programming courses during my first year in university and they were both in Java. Then at the end of the second one we had a short course (a few weeks I think) to learn how to do most of the same stuff in C++ and it really wasn't that tough once I already knew Java. Of course you can go straight for C++ but it'll be slightly tougher and it'll probably be easier to give up because of some things.
