This may be straying a bit off topic but when the heck am I ever gonna talk about this, plus its somewhat relevant lol. Yea I completed Magna Carta 2, I would agree that the game is not very difficulty, the last boss was a friggin joke lol, OP Juto and Argo (the dragon guy) quite literally just gangraped him. But to be honest I think the difficulty is fine, maybe unlocking a new difficulty ater you beat the game would have been nice. I would hate to play another Star Ocean the last hope, the last boss was so friggin difficult that I quite literally just gave up, and I never ever give up once I have gotten that far into a game but for Star Ocean I just had to. Not to mention each of the game's boss took like 30-45 minutes to beat which is ridiculous, it had a good story at least at the beginning but ruined it with insane grinding and difficulty (I was playing on normal, not even hard. I fear to wonder whats in the hardest difficulty that you unlock after you beat the game). I started Infinite Undiscovery but just stopped playing after a while as there was nothing particularly interesting about the story or gameplay for me, hence I say MG2 is better, it had a pretty decent story that kept me second guessing and gave a very nice closure. The gameplay could be just a bit better, but it was fun nonetheless and all the characters were VERY well developed, I really felt as if I got to know each of the characters in depth and their motivations for fighting by the end of the game, which very few games do properly. I also quite literally just got an actual SOLID copy of Tales of Vesperia from one of my friends 2 hours ago. I know you can digitally get it, but I still can't believe what I am holding, its an actual disc copy. This game goes upwards of £60 ($100) on ebay for the disc even though the game is 4 years old and my friend just had it lying around, so he lent it to me as I have been really looking forward to playing it. I thought Magna Carta 2 was hard to find after all I went through to get an actual copy of the game, but TOV is insane. So far have played a bit of it, story seems pretty solid as expected from a Tales game and the gameplay seems alright. So I'll keep on playing and see how I find it. |
I liked how Juto had those hidden powers and that guy was a clone of him. The story did pick up later, and it was a good game, deserved better scores, but overall it was just plain too easy, and the amount of side quests is minimal. Plus there isn't a super hard hidden boss, and the atmosphere and story was just not up to the level of detail as Lost Odyssey or Inifnite Undiscovery. Graphics weren't special either.
I also haven't beaten Star Ocean, I'm behind on my JRPG's. I bought a lot 3 years ago, played a few hours of each, and put them down. Been trying to finish Tales of Vesperia for 2 years now, I'm just too busy with school sometimes and I don't want to play 2 hours a week, and then 2 hours the next week. JRPG's need solid dedication to appreciate them because over the course of months, you forget the story a bit.
Infinite Undiscovery gets better as you play. MC2 does have excellent character development, that's it's strong suite. Thank god the guys who localized it localized all the dialog and didn't make us read because that would have ruined the game.
Tales of Vesperia is rare? I live in Toronto, Canada a freaken big city, it's not hard to find games like that here. I know a store only a few blocks away which holds multiple copies, cheaper then what you're paying. The Limited Edition is selling for $100 there new.
BTW Have you played Enchanted Arms? I felt the atmosphere of this game was a lot like MC2.
