I'm not even sure if I'd say the Wii "won" this generation. Yes maybe in terms of units sold, but the XBox 360/PS3 have had much more vitality into their later years and seem to have much more active software development and developer support. The Wii had three very explosive years off the top and then has really levelled off. Lets wait and see if casuals are as impressed with a traditional controller + a touchscreen as they were with the Wiimote six years ago. I have my doubts about that. Wiimote was a revolution to non-gamers ... but today that market has all types of options and I don't think slapping a touchscreen on a traditional controller replicates what the Wiimote did for the Wii. |
Thats also a cop out. your trying to discredit the mass success of Wii by basicaly saying it didnt get the cool games that PS360, but if the fanbase is satisfied with what was offered on the console who are you or anybody else to say otherwise?
It is the consumer that decides success or failure. No one else and most of the current market decided Wii was the better console.
off to work now.
