binary solo said: Let's face it, unless Vita gets an exclusive Monster Hunter portable game it's going down in a screaming heap in Japan. There's no other IP in Japan that can even get within shouting distance of the big Nintendo handheld franchises. The MH games are the only million sellers on PSP in Japan, as such they hold great importance to the potential success of PSV |
lol really??
did anyone think Monster Hunter was going to be as big as it was on the psp??
sure am glad most people here are not in charge of, well anything.
one game isn't on the console yet and no game is pushing units 4 months into the consoles lauch, that clearly means no games ever made ever from now on will do anything at all, lets call it quits abandon ship. Don't know about you but that makes a lot of sense to me. *sarcasm off*
He is right, not a single existing game (obviously SCEJ can pull a Pokémon phenomenon anytime... well, not that obviously) can push units like MH for Vita in Japan. If MH4 hits 3DS in the end of the year exclusively, it's over. It'll sell like hotcakes filled with hotcakes and then some more - especially with a hardware redesign, which is very probable.
What other games can push units like that for Vita? Especially, this year?
I'll tell you when the damn year is over
Yes, that's right, no other!
because the year is over and Sony will not annouce ANYTHING at E3, Gamescom, or TGS right
They will, but not at the same level of impact as MH, how it's that hard for you to understand? This is not a quality discussion - they will announce tons of quality games for vita in those conferences. But really big IPs in japan are very scarce, and for Vita not a single one is more important than MH. Unless, we count the mystery world class phenomenon revolutionary new IP game, but this "game" could theoretically save the 360 there, so let's not.
And remember, annoucing games and releasing them takes time, especially big games so I think waiting until TGS can be too late to announce something. That's why I'm very positive about Capcom announcing a MH port next month, releasing on the holidays with a price cut.
you know what screw it, there is no talking to you people (from the damn future) you've all made your minds up becasue I bet you all knew for a fact that when monster hunter was announced for the psp that it was gonna be as big as it was I'm sure of it.
but I'm gonna wiat until nothing is announced until I say nothing is announced until then I'll sit firmly in the anything can happen boat.
Yeah, let's all do that... wait and see for anything. Why bother talking anything if anything can happen? Maybe Sony will buy Apple, so there it is, not in a bad situation anymore. We're talking about things that can help Vita escape that dreadful sales zone it's in, and everybody almost agree it's based in one game, Monster Hunter.
And did you know MH did not start as big as it is today, so even a new magical unpredictable IP will take time to settle itself as a blockbuster.
