It actually translates to both and "unexplored" would be the most correct one. Unexplored and uncharted do not mean the exact same since "charting" is the annotation and mapping of a region or area, it is perfectly possible to explore an area without mapping or making notes of it. The opposite is not possible.
Hence, unexplored is a far better translation of "uutforsket".
