They will obviously keep the Playstation brand, for those of you that think it wont be Playstation. The difference now, is that Playstation is more becoming a brand name with multiple devices/networks, not just a console name. If they end up making a phone, or other devices that use the Playstation brand, they might decide to move away from the Playstation+number name for the console and make it the Playstation brand.
Kind of like how apple uses the "i" as their brand. Instead of calling the ipod the imac portable or the iphone, the ipod phone. Sony could use the Playstation as the brand, and have the Playstation "Console", the Playstation Vita, the playstation Network, the Playstation Xperia, etc.
Of course Sony could also decide that the console is the center of the ecosystem and everything is based off of it so they will keep that going by referring to it as the Playstation+number out of respect. Which would be a nice gesture, but I think it would be a smarter marketing move to give it another name, not just to expand the Playstation brand, but to also better position the new console.
However, Sony is not the best at marketing, so I'm not sure what they will ultimately decide to do.

If I was running Sony, I would position the Playstation name into a whole other brand and also add things like PC's, laptops, phones and tablets into the mix and market them towards the younger(30ish and under?), more tech savvy market that play games. And keep the Sony brand to manufacture and market devices for the casual consumers.
