My cousin had one when he came home on leave from the Army. I was still a Gameboy fan but when I played it, it felt like something from the future. I only played one of the Sonic the Hedgehog games, though. He sold it a couple of days later. Totally blew my mind. I was a diehard Nintendo lover and, if memory serves, THAT was the first time I played a Sega (then again, it may have been when my neighbor loaned me a Genesis). It wasn't bad. Looking back, it wasn't very good, either. I think they sold a TV tuner, too.
There were a lot of consoles that were ahead of their time, back then. People seem to think it's pretty amazing that the PSV plays games that are almost on par with the PS3. Back in the day, we had the Lynx that played games that were console worthy. We had the Turbo Express that played the same games as the just released Turbo Grafx-16, and later, the Nomad that could play Genesis games. They all had too many other short comings, though.
