I think the endings are being blown out of proportion. I don't think it's great by any means, but I don't think that about a lot of endings in videogames even some of my favorite ones.
I'd also prefer they just left it as is. Because if they add a DLC ending that opens up a whole new shitstorm. Plus sets precedent that devs can place one ending in the game. And if fans don't like it, they can make a new one. Which is just, not how I'd want my stories to be written and presented as.
