It seems there is light at the end of the tunnel for the XBox. But remember part of this amazing cutting costs was just paper shuffling by writting down a billion dollars for RROD. That shurely would have eliminated profit last quarter and eaten most of this one.
If the achieve profit this quarter with no holiday software sales and no Halo launch, and maybe a price drop, then I will be impressed. But I don't see that happening.
The profit is going ot need to get a hell of a lot bigger this year to make a dent in the debt they piled up because next year is where the costs of the next system start pilling up.
@Darknight_DS- You are totally right on that Operating Income thing. God I can believe I am still bamboozled by company spin. But I think this quarter was at least some amount of positive.
Final* Word on Game Delays:
The game will not be any better or include more content then planned. Any commnets that say so are just PR hogwash to make you feel better for having to wait.
Delays are due to lack of proper resources, skill, or adequate planning by the developer.
Do be thankful that they have enough respect for you to delay the game and maintain its intended level of quality.
