That was a fast trip to Wikipedia. 
Basically, it's okay to do that sort of thing in Japan. The Super Fire Pro Wrestling series is based entirely on the fact that it's cool to take the likeness of a real wrestler like Nobuhiko Takada and simply rename him to "Nobuhisa Sanada" to get around paying the real Takada. But Capcom figured that shit wouldn't fly in America and that Tyson might sue.
