Black one seems to be the most popular (i was gonna get red, but they were out of stock so settled for the black one)
oh, and don't forget to purchase Sonic Generations & Shinobi 3DS (to make up for your sin of not supporting Sega back in the day 
)
Also Shinobi & Sonic: Triple Trouble (Gamegear versions) will be available in the eShop later this month.
Also Revelations is an excellent choice for your first game, it's better than Resident Evil 5, almost as good at 4, but most importantly it captures the feel of the older games with the scare tactics/eerie feel.
