Yes, MLG is an in-person event. They have online rankings but their events are all in person.
Nintendo does not allow for streaming of any games on their console because basically, they are not wanting to be associated with anything that Sony or in this case, Microsoft endorses. I am thinking they would have to pay something to Microsoft either directly or indirectly, which we all know they will not do (DVD playback as a prime example).
Players normally get on their own system. I have not seen Halo players playing on the same system but then again, I do not actively watch Halo or anything. There is no interference like there can be with IR because the controller cannot be impeded by the most random of activities. I referee the fighting games.
