Will PC gaming ever become bigger then console?

No but considering that there is more games on PC than any other platform I doubt that, for example on Steam at the moment Skyrim is up top, Battlefeild 3 is pretty big, league of legends is huge so is the old republic, the sims is one of the biggest selling franchises of all time, Civ 5 and terreria are both almost always in the top games on steam, Minecraft is a phenomenon etc etc 

On the other hand it would be easy to say that console gamers only play Nintendo games and COD... I mean those are the games that always top the sales charts right?

And I am not surprised that not a lot of non PC gamers have heard about The Witcher 2 it's a niche exclusive game with a virtually nonexistent marketing budget.
