| RolStoppable said: 3DS XL would be a good option, because it easily fixes the issues of ergonomy and battery life which really are the only problems. Well, there's also the issue of the missing second circle pad on the original design, but putting one on an XL version is easy as pie. An interesting experiment with any redesign would be to also launch a version that has the position of the d-pad and the left circle pad switched around. I am pretty sure that there are plenty of people who are mostly interested in playing classic games and 2D titles on a handheld, so putting the d-pad into the natural spot would make the 3DS much more appealing to these people. Just because it's feasible to run 3D gameplay on a handheld doesn't mean that it has to be done. |
3DS XL has been tossed around a lot and I have to say that it sounds like the most fesible rendition. It would make the battery life better because they could fit in a bigger one and also it would calm the people complaining about how small the 3DS's screens are. The only thing is the 3D. I thought Nintendo said something like the 3DS's screen size is made so that Glasses 3D viewing is possible? It would be nice to have a bigger screen but not if it compromises the 3D.
Good idea about the control switch up. :)
