Oh, i didn't know that publishing deal extended to the DQX. I guess that does rule out a Vita port.
But looking at DQ IX sales i say it would be in SE best interest to except any deal Sony offers for a multi-platform release and drop nintendo as the publisher, hell i even feel it would be in Nintendo's best interests. Nintendo Spent insane amounts of money advertising DQ9 in the west, yet its sales fall short of DQVIII which was on PS2 with virtually no marketing budget behind it. Both titles sold just over 1m (NA/EU) but DQVIII by a larger margin. The Wii will be a dead platform by time of the games release and Wii U will barely have a userbase, for a game which has been in development for 4 years the platforms for release don't present much of a sales a return. I wouldn't rule out the potential that a Vita DQ would sell more copies over here then a Wii DQ would. Unless there are legal ramifications, i honestly think Sony should literally throw SE all their money get themselves a killer app for Japan and a nice addition to the western library.
