They are initially but those same memory cards which increase the cost of the system by $100 will stop the system and games from selling which results in the death of the VIta. At launch its excusable because the early adopters are game enthusiast but if you wanna start penetrating the bigger portions of the +130m who currently have HD systems then they'll need to be lowered. the 8GB internal memory wont stop sony from selling memory cards, and a specified a reduced price in memory card for the second half of the year because they will need to build momentum for the holiday season. Sometimes companies have to make short term sacrifices for long term gain, 3DS price cut seems to be working well.
"Funny how everyone must give their 2 cents to save a system/company/etc." this is a strange comment being made on a games forum where whole point is for people to discuss and share their opinion.

They're not targeting that market. They are targeting those with a DS/PSP/3DS and maybe even an iPad/iPod. Remembert his is a portable system despite how console-like its games look.

Im pretty sure anyone interested in owner a dedicated handheld gaming device would also have a home console. There is at least a very large overlap. I don't know any1 who owns a handheld and no home console. Anyway Sony have stated their core gamers http://www.vgchartz.com/article/88699/playstation-vita-to-have-biggest-campaign-ever-by-sony/
