Short version:
The oversampling results in much sharper images and a digital zoom that isn't completely useless. The tradeoff is that image quality drops hard as noise ramps up in low-light conditions.
i just wish they'd posted some comparison shots with other smartphone cameras so we can see the practical difference between cameras.
