I wouldn't worry about Mario Party 9. Even if it only does 1/3 as well as MP8, it will still sell millions. And if the game is as good as early reviews indicate, it should have a stronger word of mouth too. I think it can easily outsell the 5th and 6th generation MPs.

I agree on both...plus how many Mario Party games will it take before the game gets kinda repetitive for the target audience.  The 9 after party should indicate that the game needs a proper rest for the franchise.  I am waiting for MGS3 to go $29.99 or less before I dive in, seeing MGS HD collection is more bang for the buck at the moment. (though the 3DS has better gfx in my opinion)
