The 3DS doesn't need a Pokemon title at this time. Mario Kart 7, Super Mario 3D Land and several third party titles including Monster Hunter 3G, Theater Rythym Final Fantasy, Resident Evil Revelations and Metal Gear Solid 3D are all maintaining sales momentum for the 3DS. It's selling around 1m units per month, expect a 3D Pokemon game when Nintendo need to drive momentum again...probably late this year or early next year.
Some journalists really don't have a clue. :o/
