I don't know but the Rayman Origins in US PSN already have more than 1000 ratings... so I presume that at least 1k digital copies were sold in the US PSN.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe you can rate PSN games without needing to purchase them. Perhaps it's because I was only browsing demos though.

You can't but there are many buyers not rating the games too... so I guess the sales is to be more than the rates.
