Book series- A Song of Ice and Fire (Game of thrones etc.) The Drenai series by David Gemmell and Raymond E Fiest's 4 books on the Demon War are excellent as well.
Film- Conan The Barbarian.
TV Series- I've heard great things about the Game Of Thrones series, but I don't want to watch it. I have my own view of how the world and characters look in my head, I'd rather keep it that way.
