After a long night of just playing with the Vita I can safely say that I do not regret my purchase. Uncharted is great, and believe it or not the touch controls are minimal if you choose for them to be so and when playing it with the analogs it feels like you're playing it on a console. Did I mention this screen is beautiful.
When climbing in Uncharted the touch controls are very responsive, all it took was me tracing a path with a light touch of the finger and it registered it without issue. As a matter of fact all of the controls handled without issue, but the touch controls need mentioning since they worked great, although I don't care too much for using the back panel to climb ropes and instead just use the analog.
Naughty sites works fine on the web browser, so great news for all you pervs in here. It even works better than they do on my phone.
I really like the OS. At first I was a bit skeptical and has my issues, however they quickly went away as I had more time to mess with it. It really feels a bit like a smartphone.
One problem I do have however, and that is the prices. I wanted to see how Zenonia controls with the Vita, but it costs $6.99. This is absolutely ridiculous since Zenonia on smartphones is only $0.99 and all newly released Zenonia titles are free. Sony need to really reconsider their pricing model on their minis, not to mention their PSP titles. I fear for what happens with PS Suite and some of these Android titles. I really hope it we don't see a game release on both and be $5 on Vita and $.99 on Android, although I am confident that this will be the case. If so then I can see this really hurting the Vita. Sony need to get with the times.
All in all though, this is a fantastic little console and I still can't wait for Gravity Rush.

Yeah.. SONY must check up most of the price on PSP games on US Store... there are some games at 40$! games from YEARS ago!.. they have been dropping bit at bit.. but nothing compared with Euro Store.. where each week is a PSP Festival... offers and price drops each week.. that's why PSP is still doing good in Europe and Vita will have a warming wellcome there.. Playstation brand is Stronger in Europe than anywhere else..

Part of me thinks this is just SCEA being very greedy and to be honest I don't like it one bit. They say the reason(s) we don't get a passport program is because of lack of demand for PSP and "reasonable prices for PSP games on PSN".
I call bullshit. Maybe before spouting such nonsense they should take the time to look at these "reasonable prices". Have they ever stopped to think that maybe these BS prices for PSP games are also a big part of why the PSPGo flopped so hard? Why buy digital when you not only get to never really own the game, but on top of that you need to pay a higher price?
Or maybe SCEA is just incompetant. I really wanted to buy some PSP JRPGs last night but I kept asking myself: "Why pay $25 for a PSP games when that $25 gets me a Vita title?"
To me, that is a problem. I only wish they could see it too.

Yeah, that a problem upgrading to the Vita if you have a PSP. You can't take your physical games with you. Why buy those same games again? Nintendo made a smart decision with backwards compatability on the 3DS, I still play some DS games on it and don't have to worry about buying new expensive copies of DS when I can buy the pre-owned for a cheaper price.

The lack of UMD isn't the problem though and Vita is backwards compatible with PSP games (Don't know why people talk as if it isn't). The issue here is price, not the lack of a UMD drive, which would not only be a big drain on the battery, but would also cause the Vita to be larger. Nothing is wrong with the design of the Vita, it is just the way they execute some things. The people who cry about the lack of a UMD drive are those same people who a few years back complained about the UMD drive. O_o
Also, Nintendo is no better since they charge $5 for NES, $8 for SNES and $10 for N64 titles. PS1 titles (Majority) cost less than Ninty charges for SNES games, plus they also eventually dumped GBA support on DS, so how long before you think they dump DS support for digital as well? Believe what you want, but they are far from perfect too, and I doubt they will offer a passport program either.
Fortunately though this thread is about the Vita and not a Vita/3DS comparison thread, so no offense, but I am looking for insight on why they are so off on their prices and care not for what Nintendo is or isn't doing with the 3DS. If I wanted to know that I would be in the 3DS thread.
P.S. - I pirated the shit out of the PSP I had, so that is why the lack of UMD means squat to me. Now I am actually going to buy the games and it ends up being worse. Makes me want to pirate them again, lol. I only owned maybe (3) or (4) UMDs, with one of them being the Spiderman 2 movie, which came with my PSP.
