I'm still very doubtful of this. Apple is mostly so very successful because of brand recognition. Absolutely no reason that Sony/Nintendo cannot exploit this.
You could argue that the future Sony handhelds won't be "pure games console(s)", but the Vita does other stuff too. The main purpose is just gaming. As will be the case for future handhelds. People love buying stuff. Why the hell would people go so ape shit over the new Iphone every year considering that it costs so much and is just slightly revised.
