The real news to take from this is that The Witcher 2 sold 1.1million and only 270k were via digital distribution. I'm constantly hearing how Steam/digital is as big as physical sales but it seems that in this example it is still the minority by the long way at only around 25% of sales.

I wonder if other games follow this example.

The Witcher 2 is the kind of game that is biggest in Eastern and Middle Europe, where digital isn't as big. With games such as Skyrim, however, I think the ratio will be higher for digital vs. retail.


retail copy of TW2 was 120 pln is shops in Poland , Steam/gog versions were 45 euro so 180 PLN ;)
